Conference SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AND INDUSTRIAL LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION IN THE CONTEXT OF PREVENTION OF THE BALTIC SEA EUTROPHICATION
Green federation GAJA has distinction to invite you to an international conference “Sustainable agriculture and industrial livestock production in the context of prevention of the baltic sea eutrophication”, implemented within the framework of the project Balic Green Belt (INTERREG IV B).
The conference will take place on 22-23 June 2010 in the Sand hotel in Kolobrzeg. Attendance is free of charge. The oprganizers will cover the cost of food, accommodation and conference materials, but do not cover travel costs and any costs incurred by the participants, that are not attributable to the conference (additional meals and drinks ordered with the exeption of meals provided at the conference, using the SPA, etc.). The condition of participation is send application not later than 15 June 2010. The conference is implemented under the project „Baltic Green Belt” (www.balticgreenbelt. uni-kiel.de, www.balticgreenbelt.org.pl), which embraces all the countries of the Baltic Sea region. The aim of the action taken in the project is to improve the ecological conditions of coastal areas, including the promotion of social and economic aspects of sustainable development of coastal areas, as a guarantor of dynamic economic development. The project is to contribute to the implementation of the "Baltic Sea Action Plan" by HELCOM and its implementation contain the period 2009-2012.
The Polish part of the project consists of two sections - agricultural consultancy focused on sustainable development in rural areas and monitoring of the operation of large-scale animal farms, for compliance with environmental regulations and the possibility of reducing their negative impact on local communities and the natural environment (Polish title of the component is “"The promotion of sustainable agricultural and monitoring of mass livestock production in the context of the reduction of eutrophication of the Baltic Sea and as a tool for environmental protection and nature conservation in rural areas"
The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, and the resources of the Green Federation GAJA.
